How to Clean Pavers

Maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of your patio and driveway pavers is essential for preserving the beauty and longevity of your outdoor spaces. Regular cleaning not only enhances curb appeal but also prevents potential damage caused by accumulated dirt, stains, and organic growth.

3-Step Paver Cleaning Process

1. Apply Cleaning Solutions

There are several types of cleaning solutions. We use three types on most projects: A multi-purpose, sealer stripper, and specialty cleaner.

A multi-purpose cleaner rejuvenates and thoroughly cleans by removing stubborn dirt, grime, tire marks, and environmental stains. It readies the surface for sealing by ensuring ideal conditions for sealer adherence and maximizing visual appeal.

Our sealer stripper efficiently removes different types of sealers, such as acrylic, acrylic latex, polyurethane, and other resin-based products. Its dependable performance is gentle on most surfaces.

There are three types of specialty cleaners.

  • Efflorescence cleaner swiftly eliminates efflorescence, along with mineral and salt deposit stains. Additionally, it effectively tackles and removes stains caused by irrigation systems, iron, and hard water. White Water thoroughly cleans and preps the surface for sealing by ensuring ideal conditions for the sealer to adhere properly, enhancing its aesthetic appeal.
  • Spot degreaser is an effective cleaner for removing grease and oil spots, applicable to both petroleum and food-derived oil stains. Its formula is ready for immediate use without the need for dilution. Its cleaning ability ensures that dirt and cleaner residue are effortlessly washed away.
  • Organic stain remover is a strong natural cleaner designed to tackle and eliminate typical non-greasy stains. It effectively removes moss, mold, mildew, as well as berry and leaf marks. It effectively tackles rust, wine, and non-greasy food stains.

Apply the solutions evenly across the paver surface, allowing it to sit for 5-10 minutes to break down grime and stains.

2. Agitate the Surface

Using a pressure washing surface cleaner is the fastest way to agitate the cleaning products thoroughly and evenly before rinsing. Without a power washer this process could be quite time consuming and the results may not be as good.

3. Rinse Clean

After surface cleaning, rinse the pavers thoroughly with low pressure to remove all cleaning solution and loosened dirt along the surface. Ensure that all soap residue is washed away, as leftover detergent can attract dirt. If using a pressure washer, maintain a safe distance and use a fan spray nozzle to prevent surface damage. Providing a thorough service reinforces the concrete pavers' benefits, ensuring they maintain their visual appeal and durability.
